Changing display settings

You can change the normal display settings by clicking the right mouse button while the cursor is over the desktop area then select Configure Desktop... from the pop-up menu and then click on the Display option from the left column.

If the resolution you want to use is not provided in the drop-down list, you may need to do the following to add them. Be very careful when setting the resolution this way. Some monitors will be permanently damaged if you set the resolution too high. Check the documentation that comes with your monitor. Use this information at your own risk.

Press Alt+F2 keys to invoke the command launcher
Type kdesu "dpkg-reconfigure -plow xserver-xorg"
Follow the instructions provided by the wizard
Restart your system

No Graphical Login at Startup

If you find yourself booting up to a non-graphical screen or a console login screen try this tip:

Press simultaneously the keys Ctrl+Alt+F7

Explanation:

There are seven "virtual" terminals running at the same time when you turn on your PC. The graphical desktop runs on the seventh (hence F7) terminal while the other six (F1 to F6) are console (or command-line) terminals.

Bayanihan Linux Repository Online!

This repository contains updates to the Bayanihan Linux Operating System version 4 (BANTAYOG).

Follow the instructions below in order to use this repository to update your BL4 system.

Go to Menu -> System -> Synaptic Package Manager
Enter your password when prompted and click Ok to continue.

Click Settings -> Repositories -> New and enter the following data:

URI:		http://apt.bayanihan.gov.ph/bantayog
Distribution:	stable
Section(s):	main

Click Reload to check for updates. See note below.
Mark the packages (software) you want to install/upgrade by clicking on its name and selecting the appropriate option
Click Apply and confirm the prompt that appears by clicking the window's Apply button again.

Note: If you require a proxy to connect to the internet, go to Settings -> Preferences -> Network to set the proxy address and port.
